COMMISSION REGULATION (EC) n. 2076/2005 - 20/03/2006

It lays down transitional arrangements for the implementation of Regulations (EC) n. 853/2004, (EC) n. 854/2004 and 882/2004 and amending Regulations (EC) n. 853/2004 and 854/2004 (GUCE L338 22.12.2005).

This Regulation lays down transitional arrangements for the implementation of Regulations (EC) n. 853/2004, (EC) n. 854/2004 and 882/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council and amending Regulations (EC) n. 853/2004 and 854/2004.

As regards the four Regulations above specified, since the application of some of these measures with immediate effect from 1 January 2006 would present practical difficulties in some cases, a transitional period of four years ending on 31 December 2009 is established.

Moreover the Regulation establishes some transitional dispositions for the Regulations above specified; for example, concerning Regulation (EC) n. 853/2004, the stocks of packaging materials purchased before 1 January 2006 can be utilised until 31 December 2007. Composition criteria (fat content and connective tissue/meat protein ratio) and labelling requirements for minced meat are given.
